Resco Living will only remove items that are fit for reuse. You are helping us to divert goods from disposal, provide affordable furniture to low income households and create employment training opportunities for the long-term unemployed. Learn More


  • We will refuse items that are: damaged, stained, ripped or torn
  • Please ensure that all soft furnishings have the appropriate Fire Safety labels
  • Please note that we cannot accept used mattresses and divans

Resco Living works with partners to provide good quality reuse furniture to people in need. We therefore cannot accept the following items:
  • Waste
  • Internal or external doors, windows or window frames
  • Garage doors
  • Full or part bathroom suites i.e. toilet, sink, pedestal, bath
  • Fitted kitchen or parts thereof
  • Mattresses and Divans
  • Pianos
  • Fence panels, greenhouses or sheds
  • Fitted bedroom suites or parts thereof
  • Shower screens, cubicle or shower tray
  • Boilers, radiators, water tanks or storage heaters
  • Carpet: off – cuts or underlay
  • Asbestos
  • Car parts
  • Construction waste
  • Garden waste
  • Gas cylinders
  • Chemicals and toxic waste
  • Paints
  • Tyres
  • Oils
Please note that no refunds will be offered if these items are presented to the collection team at the time of the service


Please do not leave items outside for collection. We carry from inside your property, therefore please choose a day when you are at home.

Please ensure that large items that can be dismantled are dismantled before the point of collection. We reserve the right to refuse items that have not been dismantled.


In instances of high rise flats, the lift must be in operation and of sufficient size to fit the items to be collected. Collections from properties above the second floor will be made where a suitable lift is in operation otherwise the owner must make arrangements for the items to be brought down to the ground floor at the time of collection.


Whilst the online booking system we use enables you to book an hour's slot, collections take place in morning or afternoon slots. The morning slot is 10am - 1pm and the afternoon slot is 1pm-4pm. Please be aware that your collection will take place at anytime within one of those periods depending on whether your booking falls in the morning slot or the afternoon slot (1pm bookings fall into the afternoon slot).

Your email confirmation will also have a designated time slot on it - again please ignore this.

This helps us take the most environmentally friendly route whilst carrying out the collections.

Cancellations and changes to your collection can be made up to 48 hours before the collection is due to take place. A refund less 15% administration fee will be provided in the case of a cancellation. Any cancellations after the 48hr mark shall not be refunded. All refunds will be done over the phone and will be the responsibility of the booker. All refunds must be processed within 28 days of the cancellation.
